The wood and steel sculpture, Points of View by James Surls, occupies a prominent spot in downtown Houston's Market Square. Originally dedicated by the City in 1992, the existing lights were inefficient and outdated. Additionally, because the lighting was located in the surrounding water feature, routine maintenance was difficult. With ongoing revitalization efforts in the area leading to increased pedestrian activity at night, our client wished to re-address the lighting for this formidable art piece. G2LD specified new underwater LED lighting fixtures that would be much longer in life, more efficient, and would have better color rendering than the previous fixtures. High output fixtures with a tight beam spread were used to brightly illuminate even the highest arms of the 25 foot tall structure.
