Paloma Nail Salon

Paloma Nail Salon, Houston, Texas
Architect: CONTENT Architecture

A recent winner of the 2017 AIA Houston Design Award for Interior Architecture and just featured in Texas Architect, Paloma Nail Salon, seeks to be on the leading edge of non-toxic nail salons in the country.
Designed by CONTENT Architecture, G2LD worked to maintain a very current and modern, yet natural, feel.
Bright, commercial-feeling lighting was avoided in favor of small but effective adjustable task lights and soft indirect lighting. Modern decorative sconces and pendants were strategically used not only to mark individual spaces, but also to contribute to the designer feel of the space. For more information on this project,

In The News:
G2LD a Part of the Harvey Rebuilding Process

Along with everyone, we at G2LD were devastated watching the floodwaters of Hurricane Harvey deluge our City. While we know the rebuilding process will be an arduous one, we feel confident Houstonians will use this setback as an opportunity to rebuild stronger and better. G2LD is proud to be a part of the design teams on numerous Harvey projects-from flooded parking garages being revitalized with more efficient and effective LED fixtures, to numerous projects in the hard hit theater district that need guidance on beautiful design on a very short timeline, to facilities that are taking this as an opportunity to make some needed design changes. Houston Strong!

Lighting Bloopers

It’s a hazard of the job—we can’t go anywhere without analyzing the lighting. We’ve seen it all—the good the bad, the ugly, and the so-bad-it’s-hilarious. So we’ve devised this column to share some of the funniest lighting mishaps.

We think we know how this conversation went...

Client: "We only want recessed lights - no larger than 3" aperture. But also, we want it to look and feel like you're literally sitting on the sun."

Design Team: "Can do!"
If you come across a spectacular (or just embarrassing) lighting blooper,  please send it to us at  sarah@G2LD.com
We're always looking for a good laugh...
